Natural Pet Insect Repellent Spray Recipe

Dealing with fleas and ticks on your pets can be a challenge. If they have sensitive skin or you have allergies to certain products, the problem can seem insurmountable. However, natural products you make yourself can provide relief for your pet while being safe for you and your family.
Supplies
- Glass Spray Bottle
- Water
- Apple cider vinegar
- Lemon oil or garlic oil
- Lemon juice
You can make your own lemon oil by heating one cup of olive oil and the rinds from two lemons in a sauce pan for twenty minutes. Lemon is known to repel many pests, including mosquitoes, which will keep your pets safe if they spend time outside.
Lemon Pet Spray Insect Repellent
Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 10-30 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup of water
- 2 cups of apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbs. of lemon oil or garlic oil
- 2 tbs. of lemon juice
Directions
1. Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle.
2. Shake well.
3. Spray on your pet's fur, being sure to get close to the skin.
This is an effective way of protecting your pet regardless of how sensitive they are. They will also smell good with the lemon aroma, which is always a side benefit.
Please note : Lemon, vinegar and garlic may burn pet's eyes, please avoid spraying their eyes by covering their eyes while spraying. Pets can also have sensitive skin and allergies, please patch test your pet before doing an all over spray and/or check with your veterinarian about your pet's specific needs.
